He has always been an outcast at school and he is never part of anything. He is finally fitting in :)

Because he was a loser before the wave, and now people don't make fun of him or shove him in lockers anymore.

Because now he feels like he belongs and that he won't be in the shadow of his older brother - he'll be in the light of "The Wave"

He felt like he was a part of something. He even sat with everybody at lunch. People also stopped bullying him.
